European Neuroendocrine Society (ENETS) Center of Excellence for Neuroendocrine Tumors.

At the University Hospital Tübingen (UKT) and the Medical Faculty Tübingen (MFT), the excellent potential for improved research into the molecular basis and, in particular, novel treatment options for neuroendocrine tumors (NET) is being pooled in a University Center of Excellence (CoE) Tübingen, which is certified by the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS).The potential for improved research into the molecular basis and, in particular, novel treatment options for neuroendocrine tumors (NET) is being pooled in a university Center of Excellence (CoE) Tübingen, which has been certified by the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS). The ENETS Center of Excellence Tübingen is affiliated with the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Tübingen-Stuttgart / the Southwest German Tumor Center.

The Certificate (PDF)

Our declared goal is to achieve innovative approaches in NET diagnostics as well as in NET therapy.

Accordingly, the ENETS CoE Tübingen defines itself as an institution in which all institutions of the UKT and the MFT cooperate in an excellent interdisciplinary manner in university patient care, basic research and translational therapy development. In addition, ENETS CoE Tübingen has developed special formats of teaching and training in order to sustainably involve and inspire young scientists and, beyond that, also nursing and study personnel for the challenging topic of research in the field of neuroendocrine tumors.

Self-help groups of tumor patients represent a very important pillar in the overall concept of combating tumor diseases.

The Netzwerk Neuroendokrine Tumoren (NeT) e.V. is the largest self-help organization for patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms and for their relatives in German-speaking countries and is one of the largest self-help groups for this disease in Europe.

The NeT network helps patients and their relatives directly in discussions, with information in written form (journals, brochures), through exchange among the patients, individually and/or in its regional groups, by arranging contacts to patients as well as to NET experts and clinics specialized in NET.

The NeT network has also set itself the goal of informing physicians and nursing staff in particular about neuroendocrine neoplasia and sensitizing them to the goal of making a diagnosis as early as possible and opening up to them an approach to the special situation of those affected with this disease.

People with the diagnoses "Neuroendocrine Neoplasia, Neuroendocrine Tumor, Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (NEC), Carcinoid, GEP-NET, Lung NET, Genitourinary NET, MEN1 or Neuroendocrine CUP" regularly face a mountain of questions:

  • What does this diagnosis mean for me and my life? Where can I find help? What can I do myself? Who can I talk to? How does this examination or therapy feel?
  • Or also: Where can I find addresses for diagnosis, therapy and aftercare?
  • Where can I get up-to-date information?

The NET-Z Tübingen has been working very closely with the "NeT-Regionalgruppe Schwaben" (head: Mrs. Christine Görzen, Nürtingen) for many years and is the first point of contact for the patients organized in the NeT network and their relatives in all questions.

Contact

In addition, NET-Z Tübingen, in cooperation with the NeT regional group Swabia, organizes special patient seminars at regular intervals, where there is always enough time for questions to the speakers/NET specialists and for exchange among each other.
