Donations and sponsoring for the eye clinic
Scientific research is personnel and material cost intensive. Although the majority of the research funds of the Tübingen University Eye Hospital come from third-party funding (DFG, foundations, industry), donations are indispensable for a variety of reasons.
Donation receipt
The donated funds are used exclusively and directly for charitable purposes within the meaning of the section "tax-privileged purposes" of the German Tax Code.
We will be happy to issue a donation receipt for amounts over 200 euros. Please indicate your postal address in the second line of the remittance slip.

Research and teaching in Malawi
Research and teaching in Malawi
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. Ophthalmic care in Malawi is absolutely inadequate. In Malawi, with 19 million inhabitants, only 10 ophthalmologists are practicing!
Since the beginning of 2005 there has been a cooperation between the University Eye Hospital Tübingen and the Eye Hospital of the College of Medicine (COM) of the University of Malawi in Blantyre. In addition, a subject-related cooperation in the field of ophthalmology funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has existed since 2006. Since then, there have been regular visits by Tübingen hospital staff to Malawi as well as return visits. The Malawian colleagues accompany medical staff in the daily routine of the clinic and watch operations.
