Memory Clinic

Memory disorders can occur in various diseases. The Memory Clinic serves the (early) detection, differential diagnostic clarification and treatment of memory disorders, as well as the counselling of affected patients and relatives.

When do I contact the consultation hours?

If you or your family notice that you are having difficulty remembering names and events or that you are less able to concentrate, it makes sense to contact our consultation hours.

If you are experiencing memory problems, it is important to see a doctor as soon as possible and get a diagnosis. It is possible that there is an underlying disease that can be cured or slowed down by treatment.

Contact

An appointment by telephone is necessary for an examination in the memory consultation.

What examinations are carried out?

  • You will be examined physically and psychiatrically by our doctors at the University Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Tübingen.
  • A blood test will be carried out and, if necessary, a brain and heart current measurement (EEG / ECG) will take place.
  • On a second examination date we offer you a neuropsychological test of your memory.
  • Afterwards, our social worker will advise you and your relatives on how to deal with your memory problems in everyday life.
  • Finally, you will receive a medical explanation and consultation.
  • With your consent, your attending physician will be informed about the examination results and treatment proposals. If necessary, you will have the opportunity to contact us again for a further consultation.
