Research at the Eye Hospital

Together with the Research Institute of Ophthalmology, the University Eye Hospital forms the Department of Ophthalmology, which is one of the 13 medical centres of excellence in the state of Baden-Württemberg and among them the only one for ophthalmology. Planning and conducting preclinical and clinical research are as much a part of the clinic's expertise as the implementation of innovative developments of new therapeutic procedures.
