This is a 12-week inpatient psychotherapeutic treatment for patients who meet the criteria for a trauma sequelae disorder (primarily (complex) post-traumatic stress disorder).

When does it make sense to complete a special program?

When does it make sense to complete a special program?

  • If you frequently suffer from stressful re-experiencing of what has happened.
  • If there is strong avoidance behaviour and withdrawal due to the traumatisation.
  • For example, if you need to keep yourself constantly busy to avoid remembering.
  • If you suffer from increased startle response due to the traumatization.
  • If you frequently regulate feelings triggered by memories with so-called dysfunctional behaviour (e.g. self-harm, alcohol and drug use, aggressive behaviour, suicidal tendencies).

What can you expect in the trauma consultation?

What can you expect in the trauma consultation?

  • After the first interview, you will be asked to fill out various questionnaires.
  • The interview will last about 75 minutes. First, it is important that you briefly describe your current problem. Following this, a diagnostic interview will be conducted with you.
  • If there is an indication for treatment, we will discuss with you in the feedback interview (usually a second appointment will be arranged for this) which treatment options we offer and which prerequisites are necessary for this.
  • The outpatient diagnostic interview is the first step if you wish to participate in DBT trauma therapy on Ward 22. This is a full inpatient treatment program.
  • You may also be offered to participate in a research project. Our working group "Trauma Consequence Disorders" conducts various studies, e.g. to better understand the mechanisms of action of psychotherapy or to develop and evaluate questionnaires for a better diagnosis of trauma symptomatology.
