The Supervisory Board of Directors appoints and supervises the University Hospital Executive Board of Directors. The Supervisory Board of Directors is always under the direction of a representative of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science. This Board has a total of nine members. It includes a representative of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Finance, the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tübingen, a representative of the personnel of the University Hospital Tübingen, and four experts from the field of Medical Science and from Private Enterprise.
The University Hospital is run by an Executive Board of Directors of five members. The task of organizing research and teaching at the University Hospital Tübingen belongs to the Faculty of Medicine. Spokesperson and head of day to day business is the Dean, assisted by a Faculty Manager.
The Faculty's board of management is responsible for managing the affairs of the Faculty of Medicine. It consists of the Dean, his Deputy, and three Sub-Deans, each of which is responsible for the individual fields of research, teaching, and biomedicine. Further, the Managing Board of the Medical Faculty also comprises the Managing Medical Director and the Commercial Director of the University Hospital Tuebingen.
