Promotionsstipendien

DZD NEXT Promotionsstipendien für Medizinstudierende

Diese Förderung bietet herausragenden Medizinstudierenden die Möglichkeit, eine einjährige experimentelle Doktorarbeit in der Diabetes- und Metabolismusforschung in einer Arbeitsgruppe des Deutschen Zentrums für Diabetesforschung (DZD) durchzuführen. Die Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten profitieren von optimalen Bedingungen renommierter Forschergruppen und von umfangreichen finanziellen sowie akademischen Unterstützungsmaßnahmen. 

Das Programm richtet sich an Studierende, die sich wissenschaftlich engagieren und eine Karriere in der Forschung oder an der Schnittstelle von Wissenschaft und klinischer Praxis anstreben. Neben einer finanziellen Förderung werden Stipendiaten auch durch Begleitveranstaltungen und das Netzwerk des DZD NEXT Nachwuchsförderprogramms unterstützt. 

Da wir eine möglichst breite Anzahl an talentierten Bewerberinnen und Bewerbern ansprechen möchten, bitten wir Sie herzlich, diese Information in Ihren Vorlesungen, Seminaren oder auch über die Studienberatungen ihrer Universitäten an interessierte Studierende weiterzugeben.

Förderprogramme

Kissick Family Foundation Frontotemporal Dementia Grant Program

The Kissick Family Foundation Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Grant Program will fund a second cohort of research to understand the fundamental biology of why and how sporadic forms of FTD develop. In partnership with the Milken Institute Science Philanthropy Accelerator for Research and Collaboration (SPARC), the program seeks to broaden the foundational knowledge of FTD to spur diagnostic and therapeutic advancements. The SPARC online grant portal is now accepting applications for two-year projects to conduct basic or early-stage translational research on this topic.

The Kissick Family Foundation FTD Grant Program intends to award up to five two-year research grants led by doctoral-level investigators at qualifying research-based institutions worldwide. Projects will be eligible for up to $500,000 in funding over two years, inclusive of indirect costs.

Matariki Network of Universities (MNU)

The Matariki Network of Universities (MNU) is launching the second call for research seed funding to develop a stronger relationship in globally relevant fields of research between its partners. Through a competitive process, MNU will jointly advertise, select and fund collaborative bi-, tri and multilateral research projects between MNU institutions. Successful research projects are expected to ultimately result in outcomes such as third-party funding applications, larger-scale collaborations, significant joint publications etc.

Proposals covering any thematic area will be considered, but applications in areas related to the United Nations’ SDGs are particularly welcome. Projects must also demonstrate alignment to MNU’s five guiding principles and values.

Please note that the MNU Research Seed Fund particularly welcomes applications from Early Career Researchers (ECRs) (up to 6 years from PhD), though does not exclude submissions from other groups.

Summary of features:

• Proposals will be invited for a maximum of £25,000, for activity duration of 12-24 months;
• Projects must start no later than 1st May 2025;
• Proposals must include researchers from at least two (2) MNU institutions.

Proposals including multilateral partnerships are strongly encouraged. Bilateral

project proposals should include plans for engagement of other Matariki members

in the project; 

• Applicants must be eligible to serve in the role of PI at their own institution;
• Applicants must have proven expertise in the project proposal being submitted;
• Non-Matariki external collaborators may be involved in the proposal, at their own expense.

The call opens on Wednesday 2nd October 2024 and completed applications should be submitted through the link below by 12:00 (GMT) on Friday 6th December 2024.

About the Tu Youyou Award 2024

Professor Tu Youyou was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2015 for her groundbreaking work in the discovery of artemisinin, a drug that has significantly reduced the mortality rates for patients suffering from malaria. To honor Professor Tu Youyou's remarkable contributions to human health and to continue with her achievements, MDPI established the “Tu Youyou Award” in 2016.

The Tu Youyou Award offers a total prize of CHF 100,000, which will be equally divided among the winners if there is more than one, with each winner also receiving an award medal. Eligible nominees are scientists who have made significant contributions to the fields of natural products chemistry and medicinal chemistry.

Clinician Scientists

Ausschreibung IMMediate Advanced Clinician Scientist-Programm

Das IMMediate - Programm richtet sich an forschende Fachärzt*innen, die eine kombinierte klinische und wissenschaftliche Karriere im Bereich der Immunologie anstreben. Neben finanzieller Unterstützung für geschützte Forschungszeit (50%) sowie Personal-, Reise- und Sachmitteln bietet IMMediate ein sorgfältig ausgearbeitetes 4-stufiges Mentoring-Konzept sowie ein individualisierbares Programm zur Karriereentwicklung.

In diesem Jahr sind drei Advanced Clinician Scientist-Stellen ausgeschrieben.

Die Förderlaufzeit umfasst den Zeitraum 01.05.2025 – 30.04.2031. Der Forschungsschwerpunkt der geplanten ACS-Stelle muss im immunologischen Bereich angesiedelt sein. Detaillierte Informationen entnehmen Sie bitte dem Ausschreibungstext im Anhang.
