The University Hospital Executive Board of Directors
The University Hospital Executive Board of Directors runs the University Hospital and is the Supervisory Authority for all the Institutions belonging to the Hospital.
It is also responsible for the organisation and the operational management of the Hospital. The Board - in joint co-operation with the Executive Board of Directors of the Faculty of Medicine as far as research and teaching are concerned - determines the structure and organisation of the University Hospital Tübingen, and the establishment, closure and changes in respect of the University Hospital's Medical Departments, Departments, Institutes, Hospitals, Sections and Centres. In agreement with the Supervisory Board of Directors, it also appoints the (Medical) Directors and their official deputies.
The University Hospital Executive Board of Directors currently has five members. The Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors is the Managing Medical Director. The Deputy Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Directors is the Commercial Director. The Deputy Managing Medical Director, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Director of Nursing are also members of the Board.
The external representation of the University Hospital Tübingen is jointly exercised by the Commercial Directors and the Managing Medical Director.
