University Children’s Hospital - Department of Paediatrics
Children are our future. To keep our children healthy and to provide treatment for their various diseases, developmental anomalies, or malformation is the responsibility of the University Children's Hospital Tübingen. The Hospital has five main focal points in paediatric medicine.
Four of the University Children's Hospital's focal areas of medicine are located in the "Berg" Hospitals. The department of medicine for newborn and premature babies (neonatology) is located in the building of the University Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics on the "Tal" Hospital premises.
Embedded in the interdisciplinary structure of the medical areas of the Children's Hospital, as well as in the entire University Hospital itself, are the concepts of psycho-social care geared to the requirements of children, a hospital school, playroom, physiotherapy, parent groups and support associations, and also the provision of accommodation for the next of kin whilst the children are in hospital.
The Children's Hospital meets the very highest criteria (level 1) in respect of equipment and quality, as defined by the joint German Federal Commission for paediatric haematology, stem cell transplantation and neonatology.
The University Children's Hospital is also a perinatological centre, social paediatric centre and social medicine centre for follow-up treatment.
