Institute for Medical Psychology and Behavioural Neurobiology

The Institute for Medical Psychology and Behavioural Neurobiology instructs medical students in the pre-clinical stage of their studies in medical psychology and medical sociology.

In this field of research the central issue is on how brain functions and behaviour can change as the result of previous experiences. The results of this basic research are incorporated into the concepts for the treatment of disorders of the central nervous system which have in the past proved difficult to treat.

The Institute's main building is located near the Neckar bridge, in the immediate vicinity of the old town centre. The Institute also operates the MEG Centre. This is a University Hospital Tübingen Interdisciplinary Research Centre and is located on the "Berg" Hospital premises.
