Together with the university clinics, the preclinical and scientific institutes and the clinical and theoretical departments, the Faculty of Medicine is one of the largest institutions for medical training and higher education in Baden-Württemberg.
According to the number of student applications for each place, the Faculty of Medicine in Tübingen is the third most popular school of its kind nationwide. This rating confirms that the study of medicine in Tübingen is extremely attractive for ongoing medical students. Currently, approximately 3.000 students are enrolled in the fields of medicine, dentistry and in the neural and behavioural sciences, whereby the latter offers a Master's programme and postgraduate courses.
Internationally, the Faculty of Medicine is renowned for the high quality of its scientific research. Rated according to the sum of its third-party funds, its numerous collaborative research centres, research training groups and research teams and the long list of its national and international collaborations, in current evaluations the Faculty of Medicine in Tübingen ranks among the top ten of all medical faculties in Germany.
