Starting signal for the Interprofessional Training Station (IPSTA) in Tübingen

In the future, all professions involved in patient care will learn from, with and about each other.

Under the leadership of Professor Cornelia Mahler, several members of the IPSTA Steering Group welcomed Professor Simon Kitto, Director of the Office of Continuing Professional Development at the Department of Innovation in Medical Education at the University of Ottawa, at the end of April. A medical sociologist, Professor Kitto's research focuses on how structural, historical, and sociocultural conditions influence the educational environment and interprofessional clinical practice.

With representatives of the IPSTA Steering Group, Prof. Kitto discussed international perspectives and provided important input for the development of the group's broader research agenda. As part of his visit, he also gave a presentation, which you can view here: https://youtu.be/xMibBIdmMxk

The development, implementation and evaluation of the IPSTA is located at TIME - Tübingen Institute for Medical Education (in formation) and is coordinated together with the IPSTA Steering Group.

As early as the winter semester of 2022/2023, the first PJ students, nursing students and nursing trainees are expected to learn and work together on the IPSTA in patient care.
