Head of the Islet Facility of the Institute fo Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases of the Helmholtz Center Munich at the University of Tübingen
The islet facility is part of the German Center of Diabetes Research (DZD e.V.). Our scientific focus is on the functional and structural changes of human pancreas, i.e. the islets of Langerhans, which lead to relative insulin deficiency in the development of obesity-dependent diabetes.
