Deciphering the interaction of specific bacteria and genetic risk factors in chronic intestinal disorders
ERC Starting Grant
The main goal of this project is to study host-microbe interactions and identify bacteria that act in conjunction with genetic variations in IBD and/or CRC patients. To accomplish this, we will identify pathobionts that trigger inflammation and analyse their function using in vitro and in vivo research methods. In addition, we will analyse an antimicrobial library in order to find potential therapies that are already now our could be accessible in future in healthcare facilities.
