iFIT Seminar Series Session with Dr. Timour Baslan
On behalf of the iFIT spokespersons Lars Zender, Juliane Walz and Bernd Pichler, it is our pleasure to inform you about and invite you to the next iFIT Seminar Series Session 2024 that will take place
on Monday, May 13th at 12:00 pm (CEST)
at Lecture Hall 210 in the Crona Clinic (Crona Klinik, Hoppe-Seyler-Straße 3, 72076 Tübingen).
Our guest speaker, Dr. Timour Baslan (Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Pennsylvania) will give a talk on
“Cancer histories, geographies, and implications thereof”.
Historically, genetic instability has been intricately linked to the genesis of a cancer genome. Implicit in the notion of instability has been the randomness of the process (e.g. randomness of genome evolution). We now know that there are very specific ordered and deterministic ways in which cancer genomes come to pass. Here, evidence for this order will be presented across many types of cancers. A discussion of implications of this order and how to combat it will also be presented.
As a special feature of this program, the iFIT will sponsor free lunch packages! (First come, first serve)
All members of the University Hospital and University of Tübingen are invited to participate!
We look forward to this Seminar Series session and to see you there!
