Our study group is involved with the epidemiological aspects (risk factors) of antibiotic-resistant infections and with the optimisation of anti-infective therapy. We have experience with “intelligence technology” for nosocomial infections and empirical antibiotic therapy.

Our main focus is on the development of strategies for the rational application of antibiosis (“antimicrobial stewardship”). Our goal is to optimise living conditions for patients.

For this reason, we are working on various projects in order to achieve successful implementation in the patient’s everyday life by means of “personalised medicine” and improvements to its application. The majority of our projects are financed by European facilities. In addition to this, we also maintain very close collaboration with the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and with the Society of Hospital Epidemiologists of America (SHEA).
