Sonderprogramm für internationale Wissenschaftsfreiheit - Achtung kurze Deadline
The Baden-Württemberg Foundation has once again published its call for applications for the “Sonderprogramm für internationale Wissenschaftsfreiheit”. The call for applications primarily aims to offer researchers from countries with increasingly restricted academic freedom (e.g., the USA) research opportunities in Baden-Württemberg.
Under this funding programme, postdoctoral fellows can apply for scholarships for a period of up to two years. Candidates nominated by the university must integrate into existing structures and projects at the applicant university.
The scholarships are to be awarded to suitable candidates from abroad or within Germany whose opportunities have been demonstrably limited due to the above-mentioned restrictions. For domestic candidates, this could be, for example, the cancellation of a previously planned and confirmed research stay abroad.
The selection criteria are the excellence of the candidates, who must be thematically aligned with and integrable into areas that are proven to be clear focal points of the university, such as clusters of excellence, innovation campuses, or SFBs.
The university is responsible for the pre-selection of candidates. The University of Tübingen can submit up to two proposals for the postdoctoral fellowships.
As postdoctoral fellowships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, please submit your expressions of interest by March 11, 2026 (at nathalie.walker@uni-tuebingen.de and cc cathrin.klingeberg@med.uni-tuebingen.de )
These should include:
- CV of the applicant
- Brief description of potential involvement in university projects
- Brief explanation of any current restrictions that exist for the applicant
