Population-based medical databases in Denmark and their use in epidemiological research
Denmark (pop. 5.8 million) has a large network of population-based medical databases. The Danish registries are a gold mine for conducting epidemiological studies of risk and prognostic factors for disease, but also for monitoring trends in health and disease at the population level. At the seminar, I will give examples of how we exploit the Danish interlinked databases to conduct population-based epidemiological studies at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology (DCE) at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital.
