Biomedical Scientist

BioMedical Scientist

BioMedical Scientists are life scientists who study human diseases and research methods for their prevention and treatment. In doing so, they collaborate with physicians. They design studies, use clinical trials, develop experiments, and make hypotheses to understand specific health problems and prevent disease.

For BioMedical Scientists, new and interesting fields of activity in medical research have emerged in recent years. In the synthesis of basic and translational research, biomedical scientists navigate the complex path from laboratory discoveries to real-world clinical impact.

To support early-career BioMedicals in this endeavor, the Medical Faculty of Tübingen is launching a broad-based, low-barrier mentoring initiative open to all early-career researchers in the biomedical sciences. Click here to find out more about the Mentoring Program Tü-SEED

BioMedical Scientists need a wide range of qualifications and knowledge. The following overview shows which qualifications and competencies should be acquired at a certain stage in their career so that they can draw on them later on as their career progresses. We call it the "Must-Haves List For Biomedical Scientists".
