Forschungswerkstatt
The Forschungswerkstatt is a support program that helps early-career scientists develop their research ideas. Young scientists in the early stages of their careers who are at a transitional stage (shortly before completing their doctorate or up to four years after completing their doctorate) can apply for funding of up to €100,000 for a period of up to one year to develop their research ideas to such an extent that they can then be submitted for implementation to renowned national and international funding bodies (BMFTR, DFG, etc.).
The Forschungswerkstatt provides straightforward funding for your own position during transitional periods between one position and the next.
Each project must begin with a research idea that currently exists only as a rough concept. There should be no fully developed research question or detailed work plan yet, and the necessary preliminary work must still be carried out.
Projects that have already been submitted to another funding agency are not eligible for funding.
All applications from universities must be submitted via the rector's office.
Deadline expressions of interest: October 7th to Nathalie Walker
Expressions of interest must include:
- description of the project idea, including a rough financial plan (max. 1 page)
- CV of the applicant (max. 1 page)
