Acute psychiatry

Acutely psychotic or severely depressive patients as well as people in suicidal life crises come to one of our two protective wards 12 and 11. There the focus is on diagnostic clarification, acute treatment and crisis intervention and drug treatment can be started.

After a more severe mental illness, rehabilitation may become necessary. Facilities for the rehabilitation of the mentally ill (RPK) can already be visited during the stay with us and if such a follow-up treatment is indicated, we will also apply for the costs. The grund.stein rehabilitation clinic (formerly the Tübingen aftercare clinic), with which we cooperate, is particularly suitable for younger people.

Dependency disorders

Dependence diseases

If you suffer from a dependency disease and have decided to undergo detoxification and motivational treatment, you will be treated on wards 13 and 23. In addition to physical detoxification supervised by doctors and nurses, you will be informed about the disease in individual and group discussions and prepared for further treatment.

Gerontopsychiatry

Gerontopsychiatry
(geriatric psychiatry)

The gerontopsychiatric special ward 10 is part of the Geriatric Centre Tübingen. Here we admit elderly patients in order to determine a possible dementia, depression or psychotic illness. Some patients require gerontological psychiatric treatment but are able to care for themselves independently at home. In this case, treatment in the day clinic for the elderly is appropriate.

Psychoses and personality disorders

Psychoses and personality disorders

Ward 21 offers a comprehensive treatment concept for patients with psychotic illness. Patients with personality disorders and trauma sequelae are treated on ward 22 according to the principles of DBT (Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy). Younger patients (up to approx. 50 years of age) can be treated directly or subsequently after a full inpatient stay in our day clinic for younger adults in Wildermuthstraße. There, we offer depth-psychology-oriented therapy for all mental illnesses. Patients with an addictive disorder in the foreground are treated in the addiction day clinic (LINK).

Depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder

Depression and
obsessive-compulsivedisorder

If you are suffering from depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder, we will admit you to Ward 24 or 25. Therapy consists of medication in combination with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Younger patients who are discharged home after a severe depressive illness often still need follow-up treatment. In our day clinic, patients learn to cope with growing challenges.

Open general psychiatric ward

General psychiatric
elective and comfort ward

Our open psychotherapy ward 14 treats various mental illnesses (including affective disorders, anxiety disorders, psychoses and personality disorders). Treatment focuses on depressive and bipolar disorders. The therapy consists of a combination of psychotherapeutic, medicinal and biological treatment methods, which are individually combined and coordinated. The psychotherapeutic treatment approach used is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in which classical behavioural therapy techniques are combined with mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies and with interventions for values clarification.
