iFIT & M3 Research Institute: Joint Seminar Lecture with Dr. Sofia Forslund
Tracing drug and diet influences from multi-omics cohort data

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the M3 Research Institute and the iFIT Cluster of Excellence we are delighted to announce a joint seminar lecture with guest speaker Dr. Sofia Forslund from the Max Delbrück Center Berlin. She will give a talk on Tracing drug and diet influences from multi-omics cohort data.
Dr. Sofia Kirke Forslund trained as a molecular biotechnologist and bioinformatician at Uppsala University, then did her PhD in evolutionary bioinformatics at Stockholm University, working on orthology inference and protein function prediction. 2012-2018 she was an Alexander von Humboldt postdoc with the Bork lab at EMBL, working on microbiome analysis, systems biology and antibiotic resistance evolution. Since 2018 she heads a junior research group at the MDC in Berlin exploring host-microbiome factors in noncommunicable diseases. Her work to data has particularly focused on microbiome-microbiome interactions, drug-microbiome associations and confounder-aware analysis of integrated multi-omics cohort data.
The lecture will take place in the big lecture hall of the Medizinische Klinik at 5:00pm on October 25, 2022. For those of you who cannot attend the lecture in person, there will be the possibility to join via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83493924112?pwd=K2JlK25hRjBGYzdGbFk3b29Pd09iZz09 (Meeting-ID: 834 9392 4112, Code: 205055).
